When It's More Than The Blues: Seeking Depression Treatment
If you think you may be suffering from depression, it can be hard to know when it's time to seek treatment. Everyone feels down from time to time, but depression is different. Clinical depression lasts for more than two weeks and is hallmarked by a lack of interest in activities you used to enjoy, a hopeless or sad mood most of the time, a lack of energy, sleep disturbances, appetite disturbances, and may even include suicidal ideation.
While depression can be overwhelming and scary, there's good news: depression treatment is shown to be extremely effective. Most people respond well to depression treatment that includes both therapy and medication. When you come in for your first appointment, we'll talk about your symptoms and develop a treatment plan that makes sense for you. Over time, we'll check in regularly to make sure you're continuing to make progress. Depression is hard, and you don't have to go through it alone. I'm here to help.
